The former associate general counsel of the Office of United States Trade Representative has joined K&L Gates as a partner in the firm's international arbitration and international trade practices. Frank Schweitzer previously represented the U.S. in litigation before the World Trade Organization. His practice will focus on international trade and investment, market access, and public international law matters as they relate to the cross-border movement of goods, services, and capital.
The former managing partner of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton's Washington office has moved to Mayer Brown. Stephen Baskin joins the firm as a partner in the intellectual property practice where he will focus on patent litigation. Over the years, Baskin has represented clients in matters related to electrical, computer software, telecommunications, mechanical and business method patents.
