Hogan Lovells has picked up a government affairs director from Sprint Nextel Corp. for its government regulatory practice in Washington, the law firm announced on Wednesday.
Trey Hanbury joined Hogan as a partner, focusing on technology, media and telecommunications. He started at Nextel Communications Inc. in 2004, a year before it merged with Sprint Corp.
Hanbury wrote in an email that his time at Sprint was a "fantastic experience." But Hogan allows him to "broaden [his] scope" and focus on more clients, he wrote.
Prior to arriving at Nextel, Hanbury provided policy and legal advice at the Federal Communications Commission. He held posts in the office of general counsel, as well as the international and common carrier bureaus.
