A former ExxonMobil counsel on environmental and safety law has landed at Bingham McCutchen.
Clara Poffenberger is working with Bingham's environmental, land use and natural resources practice group in Washington.
At ExxonMobil, Poffenberger supervised Clean Air Act issues for the company's exploration and production, pipeline/delivery and refining businesses, and served as a lead lawyer for the company's global climate change initiatives.
Poffenberger said in an interview that her work with ExxonMobil gave her an insider view of what corporations look for from outside council. She will continue to focus on Clean Air Act and climate change issues at the firm.
"Bingham has been looking for a strong air attorney for about a year," Poffenberger said. "Air issues are big issues with oil and gas, and they needed a strong lawyer to help round out their practice."
