The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission inspector general who left the agency in January has joined a global expert services and consulting firm in Washington.
H. David Kotz, who was the inspector general at the SEC for five years, is a director at Berkeley Research Group. He had served as the managing director of the Washington office of Gryphon Strategies since his departure from the SEC.
"Berkeley Research Group is a leading global expert services and consulting firm that provides independent expert testimony, litigation and regulatory support, authoritative studies, strategic advice, and document and data analytics to major law firms, Fortune 500 corporations, government agencies, and regulatory bodies around the world and offers me opportunities to work on significant and exciting new matters," Kotz wrote in an email.
He also served as inspector general of the Peace Corps and has held other top-level posts at the U.S. Agency for International Development. Kotz started his legal career in private practice, including a period at Pepper Hamilton.
