A national product liability attorney specializing in defending pharmaceutical, chemical and consumer product manufacturers has joined the Washington office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon as a partner, the firm announced today.
Sean Wajert, most recently a partner at Dechert in Philadelphia, will work out of Shook Hardy's D.C. office while the firm finalizes plans to establish a Philadelphia office, the firm said. No time frame for that office was available late Monday.
Wajert said his experience working with Shook Hardy lawyers left him admiring the way they worked, so it was “an easy and comfortable thing” to make the change.
“I just felt the Shook Hardy firm, and the resources it has, and the diversity of its practice, was a good fit for me,” Wajert said in an interview. “One of the great things about the Shook Hardy Washington office: their policy group adds a great level of expertise and experience on tort reform issues which are of great interest to many of my clients.”
Wajert served as chair of product liability and mass torts practice group for the last 10 years at Dechert, where he represented clients in diet drug jury trials, consumer product class action proceedings and chemical exposure litigation. He also has been retained as an adviser on complex commercial issues, including the potential impact of tort issues on mergers and acquisitions.
