Quarles & Brady has added a former Drug Enforcement Administration official to its Washington office, the firm announced Wednesday.
Larry Cote, a former associate chief counsel for the DEA’s Diversion and Regulatory Litigation Section, joins the firm as a partner in the health law group. At his former post Cote oversaw 14 attorneys at the DEA who prosecuted cases on matters like the revocation or denial of DEA registrations.
In an interview, Cote said that he plans to work with clients, many of which are national pharmacy chains, hospital groups and physicians, on issues related to DEA registration.
“It could mean representing them before the agency, whether it’s an enforcement matter or day-to-day issues that require interaction with the agency,” Cote said.
