Baker & Hostetler announced today it has picked up a new partner for its D.C. antitrust practice.
Jonathan Lewis, who joins Baker from Mayer Brown, said one driving force behind the move was the opportunity to work with trial attorney Robert Abrams, who led a large team that moved from Howrey to Baker in March 2011. Currently, Abrams is chair of Baker's national antitrust practice.
Additionally, Lewis said he is looking to expand his practice beyond just the litigation work he performed for Mayer Brown.
"Coming to D.C. and working here at Baker is going to enable me to broaden my practice" to include areas like mergers and other transactional work, Lewis said. "If you want to really do a full lineup of antitrust work…you have more of an opportunity, all else equal, here in Washington D.C."
Aside from the opportunity to move into other areas of antitrust law, Lewis said Baker's focus on providing value to clients mirrors his approach to representation.
