Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has added an intellectual property litigator to its Washington office, the firm announced Tuesday.
Jeffrey Gerchick, formerly a partner at Kenyon & Kenyon, has litigated patent infringement cases in U.S. district courts and handled International Trade Commission Section 337 Investigations. He has represented companies including Sony, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, Toyota and Barnes & Noble.
Gerchick has experience litigating patent infringement cases involving wireless and wired networking, cellular mobile communications, computer hardware and software, consumer electronics, digital audio formats and automotive technologies. He said in an interview that he would continue to do much of the same work at his new firm.
“The ITC practice is something that is constantly growing here,” Gerchick said. “As the amount the cases filings have picked up, my practice has naturally progressed toward it.”
“We tried a case with Jeff and saw him in action,” firm managing partner John Quinn said in a written statement. “He adds more depth to the firm’s already deep bench of IP trial lawyers.”
