Gibson Dunn & Crutcher announced Monday that Brian Buroker, the former head of Hunton & Williams' intellectual property practice, has joined the firm as a partner.
Buroker will continue to practice patent, trade-secrets and intellectual property litigation, according to the firm.
"Brian is a terrific addition to the firm," said Daniel Nelson, co-partner-in-charge of
the firm’s Washington office. "His trial experience, combined with his technology credentials and background, will be a valuable resource for the firm's clients, particularly because this region is a major hub for patent litigation."
Buroker graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1996 and, following a clerkship with Judge William Bryson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, joined Hunton & Williams in 1997.
According to a Gibson Dunn news release, Buroker’s clients include Capital One Services, The New York Times, Energy Transportation Group, Hearst Publishing, MercExchange and Verizon.
“I look forward to working with my new colleagues,” Buroker said in a prepared statement. “Gibson Dunn’s top-tier national IP practice will be an asset to my clients and will serve as a strong platform for me to build my practice.”
