Duane Morris Government Affairs announced on Monday that Pittsburgh-based GSP Consulting Corp. will join it to form Duane Morris Government Strategies.
The new firm will begin operations on Jan. 1. It will be a subsidiary of Philadelphia-based law firm Duane Morris.
“I think it is an extremely exciting growth opportunity for us,” said Daniel Moll, a managing director for the Washington office of Duane Morris Government Affairs.
Duane Morris Government Affairs currently has 15 lobbyists and offices in D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the firm’s Web site shows. The merger with GSP will create an entity that has more than 30 lobbyists and offices in Minnesota and Ohio, as well as D.C. and the states where Duane Morris Government Affairs already has a presence, according to the firm.
GSP has employees who engaged in federal lobbying this year, according to congressional records. But the firm doesn’t have a Washington office.
Duane Morris Government Affairs has five lobbyists in its D.C. office, the firm’s Web site shows. Moll said the new firm is looking to add more lobbyists to the office in 2012.
