New Internet law boutique Zwillinger Genetski is bulking up with the addition of three attorneys, including Yahoo! Inc. associate general counsel Elizabeth Banker.
The new hires nearly double the size of the three-month old Washington-based firm, bringing its headcount to seven.
The firm was founded by former Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal partners Marc Zwillinger and Christian Genetski.
Banker will join the firm as counsel in July. At Yahoo, she was responsible for global policies for responding to law enforcement and civil requests for user information.
Bart Huff, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago, also joins as counsel. During his seven years as a prosecutor, he focused on white collar cases, including Internet and computer crimes, tried 18 cases to jury verdicts, and argued several appeals before the Seventh Circuit.
“We created the firm to serve clients that do business in cutting-edge areas of the Web and need sophisticated and experienced Internet lawyers. The addition of Elizabeth and Bart will help us offer even more experience and reach to our client base," said Zwillinger in a statement.
The firm also added associate Leota Bates, a 2007 University of Virginia School of Law graduate and a former associate at Perkins Coie in Washington, D.C.
The firm regularly uses alternative fee arrangements such as success fees, flat project fees, and monthly retainers to service more than 40 Internet clients, including Yahoo, MySpace and Cablevision.
