Molly Harris, a former legislative assistant to Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), is now a government relations director at Arent Fox in Washington.
Harris, 32, started Monday. As Kohl's legislative aide, she worked on tax, transportation, infrastructure and welfare reform issues, among others. At Arent Fox, she said she plans to work on tax, appropriations and transportation issues.
Harris said she spoke to colleagues about the firm's reputation before taking the job. "Everybody said they do good work, they’re reliable and honest, and embrace a lot of the qualities I had looked for."
Arent Fox boosted lobbying revenues by 73 percent in 2009 to more than $10.7 million, according to The National Law Journal's Influence 50. For more on the firm's 2009 lobbying performance, click here for a story from the April 5 issue.
