But, according to the WaPo, a letter sent to Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. from the lobbyists' lawyers, Abbe Lowell, John Nassikas III and Baruch Weiss, could shed more light on the matter.
Supreme Court: The Associated Press reports that the Supreme Court ruled yesterday in an 8-1 decision that Shel Oil Co. cannot be held liable for cleanup of a contaminated Superfund site just because it delivered chemicals to the property. The high court also determined that railroad companies that leased part of the site would have to pay for a small portion of the cleanup.
Clearance Sale: Discount retailer Filene's Basement filed for bankruptcy protection Monday, reports the NYT. Filene's will sell 17 of its 23 stores to Crown Acquisitions, a New York real estate firm, for $22 million.
