Lobbying on climate change has jumped 14 percent compared to the same time last year, the Center for Public Integrity reports, as Congress wrestles with cap-and-trade legislation and the administration highlights the need for action on global warming.
The center found that 10 lobbying and law firms represented more than 100 players lobbying on climate change. The list included law firms such as Patton Boggs, Bracewell & Giuliani and Hunton & Williams, but was topped by lobby firm Alpine Group. Ogilvy Government Relations and Alcalde & Fay also made the list of power players. The firms represented diverse interests, from energy companies to local cities and towns.
