The Senate Judiciary Committee just released the full witness list for Attorney General-designate Eric Holder Jr.'s confirmation hearing. The last four names are new:
Introduction
The Honorable John W. Warner, Former United States Senator from Virginia
The Honorable Eleanor Holmes Norton, Congresswoman from the District of Columbia
Panel I:
Eric H. Holder, Jr.
Panel II:
The Honorable Louis J. Freeh, Former Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation
Chuck Canterbury, National President, Fraternal Order of Police
John Payton, President and Director-Counsel, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.
Frances M. Fragos Townsend, Former Homeland Security Advisor to President George W. Bush
Joseph F. Connor, Glen Rock, New Jersey
Richard S. Hahn, Former Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, R. Hahn & Company, Seal Beach, California
Stephen P. Halbrook, Attorney at Law, Fairfax, Virginia
The first four people listed on the second panel were invited by the Democratic majority; the last three by the Republican minority.
At least two of the Republicans' witnesses could provide testimony related to the Puerto Rican nationalist group FALN, 16 members of which received clemency in 1999 with help from Holder. Connor has been mentioned as a victim's son. Hahn investigated FALN bombings, according to previous testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Halbrook has written often about the Second Amendment.
