The Washington law firm formerly known as Leventhal Senter & Lerman has a new name: Lerman Senter PLLC.
Leventhal - as in name partner and founder Norman Leventhal - has left for Holland & Knight, leaving the other two name partners, Steven Lerman and Meredith Senter, to rename the 26-lawyer communications law boutique Lerman Senter, according to Lerman. Some of the firm's clients include CBS, MTV Networks, and Viacom.
Lerman told the BLT that the reasons for Leventhal’s departure “could best be explained by him,” but added Leventhal’s role in the firm “declined over the years.” Leventhal, who founded the firm in 1982 and served as its manager until 2000, is not listed on Holland & Knight’s Web site and did not immediately return a message for comment left with a firm spokesperson.
Lerman, who has been the firm’s manager since 2000, says the rest of Lerman Senter remains intact. “Our entire legal team is staying - no staff member, no paralegal is leaving - everybody is staying. There’ll be no change whatsoever. The firm is 99 percent the same.”
