Solo lawyer and anti-corruption crusader Larry Klayman is soliciting donations for his newest enterprise, Freedom Watch, an organization committed to frustrating the agenda of President-elect Barack Obama and his band of “socialist ultra leftist revolutionaries."
The organization he founded in 1990s, Judicial Watch, launched 18 civil lawsuits against the Clinton administration under Klayman's direction. He left the group in 2003 to run for U.S. Senate (he lost in Florida’s Republican primary). Klayman's relationship with Judicial Watch publicly unraveled in 2006, when he sued the group's president, accusing him of mismanagement and of damaging Klayman's reputation. Judicial Watch returned fire with allegations that Klayman had had an inappropriate relationship with an employee.
The lawsuit is ongoing, but in the meantime, Klayman has been trying to gin up support for Freedom Watch. In a rabble-rousing letter to potential donors, Klayman promises “to bring one lawsuit after another to thwart, that is stop, the Obama administration’s march to socialize this country, as well as increase Washington giveaways to Wall Street and others who do not deserve our hard earned tax dollars.”
Klayman, who attributes Obama’s victory to the stumbling economy and to Sen. John McCain’s “incoherent political campaign,” is no kinder to the Republicans. “Their party is in shambles, thanks to the previous administration and their own corruption,” he declares. “We are the last hope of the American people and the only thing in the way of socializing our country.”
In the 1990s, Judicial Watch rose to fame by persuading the courts to allow it to depose several Clinton officials. It’s too early to tell whether the Obama administration will offer any footholds for Klayman's new group, but he sounds optimistic: "We are going to give the Obama socialists hell in the next four years.”
Looks like Klayman's site, freedomwatchusa.org is down. Anyone know what's going on? Funny stuff is happening on the web. Sites are disappearing right and left.

I've been a supporter of Judicial Watch. I received the letter from Klayman asking for donations. It seems to me if he really wanted to fight Obama's socialist policies he would make amends with JW instead of slamming them! Sounds to me like his main purpose might be his own self-interests???

Klayman doesn't seem to know the difference between socialist, a political theory, and socialize, which is learning to work and play with others. In point of fact, Klayman would seem an embarrassment to the craft of lawyering. Isn't he also the guy who sued his mother? Lastly, why are you wasting perfectly good pixels by running a story about this guy?

One would think there is a better way to expend one's time and energy and that of others. Egos can really get in the way of good thinking and rational.
