Howrey, which had engaged in discussions with members of Thelen’s noted construction practice just days before the San Francisco-based firm announced its plans for dissolution last month, will bring on the practice, the firm announced today.
Howrey is taking on about 40 lawyers in its San Francisco and Washington offices, with some going to its New York and Los Angeles offices, according to a Howrey spokeswoman. The moves will be effective on Dec. 1, when Thelen officially dissolves.
Thelen's D.C. managing partner, Andrew Ness will join Howrey in D.C., and Thelen's chairman, Stephen O'Neal and John Heisse, the chair of the construction and government contracts practice, will join Howrey in San Francisco. A total of 18 partners will be joining Howrey with nine coming to the Washington office.
More updates to come.
