A three-partner health care group from Arent Fox is heading to Arnold & Porter next week, Arent Fox chairman Marc Fleischaker confirms.
Equity partners Alan Reider and Allison Shuren and nonequity partner Paul Rudolf are no longer with Arent Fox, though they haven’t yet started at Arnold & Porter. The three partners could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday, and Arnold & Porter did not immediately provide a statement. While Fleischaker says he is “very disappointed” the group chose to leave, he says the firm’s practice has lately seen more growth in institutional representation, and that the focus was not a good fit for the three lawyers. Reider’s firm bio, though, stresses his representation of health care institutional and corporate clients.
Reider was also a member of Arent Fox’s executive committee for 10 years and chaired the health care practice for 20 years, though Fleischaker says he was no longer serving in those roles.
Fleischaker maintains that Arent Fox will not be economically impacted by the departures, though he acknowledges that the lawyers are taking some clients with them.
