The race is on not only to the White House but also for legal talent. Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney announced the co-chairs of the Romney for President Advisory Committee on the Constitution and the Courts. A long winded name headed up by legal heavy weights Harvard Law Professor Mary Ann Glendon and Pepperdine Law Professor Douglas Kmiec. While the campaign noted that they will lead a group for Romney on judicial matters, separation of powers and federalism issues, it is keeping mum on who else will make up the committee.
New York Senator Hillary Clinton also named Democratic activist Weldon Latham as a national co-chair of her presidential campaign. Latham, a senior partner and chair of the corporate diversity counseling group at Davis Wright Tremaine, has a long list of public service appointments on his resume including General Deputy Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Assistant General Counsel, White House Office of Management and Budget.
