This discussion should also include nonbelievers and skeptics. Atheists and agnostics are rarely considered in the conversation, but the number of avowed nonbelievers and skeptics is growing, and the number that are still "closeted" is probably not insignificant. The dirty little secret that many of the intellectual elite are agnostic and atheist, or at least nonreligious, is consistently swept under the rug. It's time that we let this issue see the light of day in an important, high profile context. Let's discuss what it would mean to have an atheist or agnostic on the Supreme Court.
