The former founding partner at the D.C. boutique Holch & Erickson has moved to Steptoe & Johnson LLP's Washington office as a partner. Markham Erickson joins the firm as a partner in the telecom, Internet & media practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in Internet law and policy and played a role in formulating many of the federal laws that govern e-commerce, technology and the use of the Internet. He serves as general counsel to the Internet Association, a trade association that represents many of the leading Internet companies in the United States, and as lead counsel to a coalition of Internet and technology firms that promote open Internet rules.
