A team of four labor and employment attorneys are making the move to Proskauer Rose's Washington office.
Starting February 6, Connie Bertram, formerly the head of Cooley's D.C. employment and labor and government contractor compliance practice groups, joins Proskauer as a partner. She is joined by senior counsel Guy Brenner and special counsel Dan Davis, formerly associates with Cooley. Emilie Adams and Amy Blackwood also join Proskauer from Cooley as associates.
At her new firm, Bertram will serve as co-head of the labor and employment practice in D.C., as well as the co-leader of its government regulatory compliance and relations and whistleblowing and retaliation groups. Brenner will serve as the co-head of the firm's non-compete and trade secrets group.
In her practice, Bertram has represented clients in matters related to whistleblower, restrictive covenant and trade secrets claims and disputes.
"In addition to her demonstrated skills as a litigator and trial lawyer, Connie is a highly regarded authority on government contractor compliance and whistleblower issues," Elise Bloom, co-chair of the labor and employment law department, said in a written statement. "Given the recent surge in federal labor laws and regulations, Connie will play a key role in helping clients navigate Washington’s legal waters."
