Venable has bolstered its cybersecurity practice with the addition of James Barnett, a retired Rear Admiral and former chief of the public safety and homeland security bureau for the Federal Communications Commission. Barnett joins as a partner and will co-chair the firm's telecommunications group along with Frederick Joyce. Before joining Venable Barnett was senior vice president of national security policy at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.
Jeffrey Munk has joined the government affairs practice at Baker Botts as a partner. He represents clients on tax, energy and transportation issues. He was previously a partner at Hogan Lovells.
David Kaleda has joined Groom Law Group as a principal in the fiduciary responsibility group. Before joining Groom, Kaleda was a partner at Alston & Bird. He has represented before the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service.
