Hogan Lovells has bolstered its health practice with the addition of an attorney to its Washington office.
Charles Clapton, former health policy director for the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, joins as a partner.
At his post as health policy director, Clapton helped with both the Affordable Care Act and the Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act. Before that, he was the chief health counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee.
"Chuck brings a wealth of insight and perspective on health issues and public policy that will be a tremendous asset to Hogan Lovells' clients," Isabel Dunst, head of Hogan's health practice, said in a written statement. "He has worked on high level policy issues across all three branches of the government, and his skills and experience are a great addition to our existing practice."
