From a Vatican City tribunal room in a palazzo behind St. Peter’s Basilica, the chief judge, Giuseppe Dalla Torre, sentenced Gabriele "in the name of His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, gloriously reigning."

'It's Easy': Calling himself a "textualist," U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said at a talk last week that it's easy for him to resolve hotly contested cases, The Associated Press reports. "The death penalty? Give me a break. It's easy. Abortion? Absolutely easy. Nobody ever thought the Constitution prevented restrictions on abortion. Homosexual sodomy? Come on. For 200 years, it was criminal in every state," Scalia said at the American Enterprise Institute.
