The consulting affiliate of Crowell & Moring is going out in Washington to talk trade on behalf of a financial services giant, according to a lobbying registration report filed with Congress on Friday.
Prudential Financial Inc. has called on C&M International to advocate for it on "[p]ublic policy issues relating to international trade/economic and market access issues," the filing says. C&M International director Melissa Coyle is handling the account.
Coyle wasn't immediately available for comment. Prudential spokeswoman Lauren Day declined to comment.
The company spent $3.95 million on federal lobbying during the first half of this year. The company used its own staffers, as well as lobbyists from 11 firms, for its government affairs work. The firms include Blank Rome Government Relations and Patton Boggs affiliate Breaux Lott Leadership Group.
