Reed Smith has added a lateral partner to its financial industry group in Washington.
Victoria Holstein-Childress, formerly a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, represents financial institutions, along with corporate and individual clients. She focuses her practice on mortgage-related and credit card class actions and government and regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings.
Holstein-Childress has handled matters involving lending, loan servicing, securitization practices, insurance, securities sales, corporate fiduciary responsibilities and fail and distressed banks.
In an interview, Holstein-Childress said that the firm's international platform was an attractive match for her practice. She described Reed Smith's financial services platform as a one-stop-shop for her clients.
"Our financial institutions group is a global group and we work with a one office philosophy," Holstein-Childress said. "The firm has identified D.C. as an important growth area for them strategically, and I am one of the recent hires" working to expand that, she said.
