DLA Piper on Friday disclosed to Congress that it is lobbying for a health insurance giant.
Aetna Inc. has contracted the firm to advocate for it on "health care reform issues," according to a lobbying registration report. DLA Piper partners Mary Langowski and Steven Phillips, as well as firm of counsel Piper Su, policy adviser Nathaniel Bell and associate Tiffani Williams, are handling the account.
Langowski, who leads DLA Piper's health care policy and regulatory practice, acknowledged in a brief e-mail that the firm has registered to lobby for Aetna. But she didn't respond to further messages seeking comment. An Aetna representative also didn't respond to a request for comment.
