Sidley Austin has picked a co-leader of its white collar practice to succeed Carter Phillips as the managing partner of its Washington office, the firm announced this week.
Mark Hopson, a member of Sidley's management and executive committees, became the firm's Washington managing partner on Tuesday, the same day Phillips ascended to the co-chairmanship of Sidley's executive committee. A self-described Sidley "lifer," Hopson joined the firm in 1985.
Hopson said he is looking forward to leading the firm's Washington office, while keeping an active litigation practice.
“It’s obviously an honor to be asked by your partners to do this job,” he said.
