King & Spalding has expanded its healthcare practice with the addition of two lateral attorneys to its Washington office, the firm announced Monday.
Donna Thiel and Theresa Weir, formerly of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, join as partner and counsel, respectively. Thiel was co-chair of the drug, device and life sciences industry group at her former firm.
Thiel’s client list includes hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, rehabilitation providers, medical device manufacturers and suppliers, providers and physicians. She focuses her practice on regulatory issues, transactions and compliance efforts with a specific emphasis on Medicare and Medicaid payment systems. Weir focuses her practice on health care regulatory counseling, data privacy and security, among others.
“Donna and Tracy’s extensive and comprehensive experience in regulatory areas will help us meet the ever-growing needs of our healthcare and life sciences clients throughout the United States,” Jon Harris Jr., head of King & Spalding’s healthcare practice group, said in a written statement.
