Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has added a former Lockheed Martin Corp. corporate counsel to its Washington office, the law firm announced on Wednesday.
Neil Whiteman, who had handled legal matters for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co. since June 2009, will concentrate on government contracts as an of counsel at Gibson Dunn. His work will include contract disputes, bid protests, alternative dispute resolution, source selection competitions and cost accounting standards matters.
Whiteman said the defense contractor provided him with a “good background and great insight,” which allowed him to fill a need at Gibson Dunn.
At Lockheed, Whiteman focused on legal work concerning global communications systems, after a two-year stint handling complex commercial litigation as chief trial attorney for the U.S. Air Force.
