Polsinelli Shughart has added an antitrust litigator to its ranks in Washington, D.C., the firm announced Wednesday.
Mitchell Raup, formerly a partner at Mayer Brown, has joined the Kansas City, Mo.-based Polsinelli as a shareholder and vice-chair of the antitrust practice.
Raup has previously represented clients before the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission as well as other state and federal courts. He focuses his practice on complex antitrust, consumer protection laws, class actions, government investigations and health care antitrust matters. His clients run the gamut from hospitals to insurers to pharmaceutical companies.
In an interview, Raup said that he expects to take on more health care work than he previously did at Mayer Brown. But he said he expects to continue his transactional work as well.
“The headline is the health care practice,” Raup said. “The firm has been recruiting heavily on health care.”
As for his new leadership post, Raup said he looks forward to the new responsibility at Polsinelli. “I’m looking forward to learning that new game and hopefully I can make a contribution here,” he said.
