Polsinelli Shughart has lost a lobbyist to Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.)
Beverly Pheto left her job as a senior policy adviser at the firm to become DeLauro's chief of staff last month. Pheto, who worked at the firm for a year, lobbied for Polsinelli clients including Motorola Inc. and the Environmental Defense Action Fund, according to congressional records.
“I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work for Rosa,” Pheto said of DeLauro, an 11-term congresswoman, who is the top Democrat on the Labor-Health and Human Services-Education Appropriations subcommittee in the House.
Before joining Polsinelli, Pheto spent 25 years working in the federal government. She held several posts, including staff director for the House Appropriations Committee, top budget officer at the U.S. Transportation Department and chief financial officer for the Peace Corps.
