A former federal prosecutor has joined the Washington office of O’Melveny & Myers, the firm announced Tuesday.
Vasu Muthyala, a former fraud and public corruption prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's office for the District of Columbia, has joined O’Melveny as counsel in the white collar defense and corporate investigations practice.
As a part of the U.S. Attorney’s office, Muthyala directed grand jury investigations and prosecuted white collar cases involving securities fraud, public corruption, international contract corruption, bank fraud, mortgage fraud, money laundering, perjury, obstruction of justice, mail fraud and wire fraud. He also tried 15 jury trials, according to an O'Melveny press release.
“We look forward to him becoming involved in a variety of our [ongoing] matters involving FCPA, health care, financial services and securities law issues,” Daniel Bookin, head of O’Melveny’s white collar defense and corporate investigations practice, said in a written statement.
