Philadelphia-based Fox Rothschild is expanding its Washington presence with the addition of eight attorneys from Smith, Currie & Hancock, the firm announced Thursday.
Dirk Haire, Reginald Jones and Larry Harris join the firm as partners and Douglas Hibshman, Sean Milani-Nia, Jessica Perro, Alexa Santora and Farah Shah as associates.
The lateral hires will boost the firm’s Washington office, bringing the total number of attorneys to 10. Fox Rothschild established its D.C. office in November 2010 with two lawyers. To facilitate the new additions, Fox Rothschild has taken over the former Smith, Currie & Hancock space at 15th and K Streets, N.W.
Mark Silow, managing partner of the firm, said the new team would benefit the Washington office as the firm continues to expand to new practice areas.
“We will continue to diversify the office and go into the regulatory areas in the next couple of years as well,” Silow said.
Haire will serve as co-chair of the firm’s construction law practice and as managing partner of the firm’s D.C. office. Jones will chair the government contracts and procurement practice.
“Our plan is to grow,” Haire said. “We are engaged in discussions with a lateral partner and actively looking for additional associates.”
