Only one Washington-based law firm made it into the top 25 of this year’s Vault.com law firm diversity rankings.
Arent Fox was ranked the 14th best law firm for diversity in the website’s annual survey. This year, the site surveyed more than 16,000 associates who rated their firms on diversity initiatives and efforts to hire, retain and promote minority and female attorneys, as well as gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender lawyers.
The results of the survey were announced during a July 29 award breakfast at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Washington. Arent Fox chairman Mark Katz and managing partner Matt Clark were on hand to accept the Top 20 Award for Overall Diversity.
“On behalf of the partnership and the firm management, we are extremely proud of Arent Fox’s continuing efforts toward diversity and quality of life,” Clark said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing to build upon these efforts in the years to come.”
The top five most diverse law firms, according to the website's rankings, are Carlton Fields, Littler Mendelson, Ropes & Gray, Jenner & Block, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
