Paul Thompson was named as a co-partner-in-charge of McDermott Will & Emery’s Washington, D.C. office, the firm announced Thursday.
Thompson, who replaced David Rogers, will serve alongside Bobby Burchfield.
Peter Sacripanti, the firm’s co-chairman, called Thompson a “natural leader.”
“As a white collar partner, he has worked on and litigated some of the firm’s highest profile civil and congressional matters, and we have the utmost confidence in his ability to lead this office in the right direction at this critical time in our national’s capital,” Sacripanti said in a written statement.
Before joining McDermott, Thompson served as counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, where he worked on the reauthorization of the USA Patriot Act and the confirmation hearings of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito.
