Senators voted late today to confirm Motley Rice partner John "Jack" McConnell Jr. for U.S. District Court in Rhode Island.
The vote was 50-44, and it came hours after senators broke a threatened filibuster. Under Senate rules, Republicans could have delayed the vote for a day, but they decided not to.
