Zuckerman Spaeder today announced the addition of five attorneys from Murphy & Shaffer to its Baltimore office. The move will expand the firm’s business litigation and white-collar criminal practices.
Murphy & Shaffer principals William J. Murphy, Robert T. Shaffer III and John J. Connolly will join as partners. Daniel P. Moylan and Conor B. O’Croinin will join as associates.
“The five lawyers joining us from another of Baltimore’s most respected litigation firms will give Zuckerman Spaeder an even more formidable local presence and even greater depth nationally,” Graeme W. Bush, chairman of Zuckerman Spaeder, said in a written statement.
Murphy, a former clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun, specializes in representing businesses and individuals in high-stakes civil litigation, white-collar criminal matters, congressional investigations and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement proceedings. Shaffer has represented major corporations, public utilities and other businesses in a variety of commercial disputes. Connolly focuses on general civil litigation and appellate practice in federal and state courts.
The move will be effective Feb. 28.
