The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced a series of promotions from within.
Heather Seidel has been named an associate director in the Division of Trading and Markets. She held the job on an acting basis since June. Seidel previously served as an assistant director since 2007 and as a senior special counsel from 2005 to 2007. She was an attorney fellow from 2003 to 2005.
Karen Garnett and Mark Kronforst have been named associate directors in the Division of Corporation Finance. Since 2000, Garnett was the assistant director of the division's Office of Real Estate and Business Services. She previously served as a special counsel and as an attorney advisor in the divisions of Corporation Finance and Investment Management.
Kronforst has served as the division's deputy chief accountant since 2009. He was formerly a branch chief and assistant chief accountant in the division's Office of Computers and Online Services.
Also, James Capezzuto was promoted to associate regional director for examinations in the agency's New York Regional Office. He succeeds Norm Champ, who was appointed deputy director of the SEC's Office of Compliance, Inspections and Examinations in June. For the past three years, Capezzuto served as senior attorney advisor within the investment management examination program of the SEC's New York Regional Office.
