Timothy Lynch, former senior vice president of the American Trucking Associations, has joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius as senior director of the firm's Washington government relations and public policy practice. Lynch started at the firm today.
Lynch, 57, said he plans to help "build out" the firm's government relations capabilities, including lobbying. "I think Morgan Lewis has gotten a lot of input from their clients about having a much broader array of services...including government relations," he said. Lynch, who is not a lawyer, said he hopes to work with the firm's existing lawyers to expand government relations work.
"I think step one is to really try and work with the attorneys that are here and build on that," he said.
In a statement, Fred Fielding, the former White House counsel who leads the Washington government relations and public policy practice, said Lynch's hiring comes "at a time when legislative and regulatory action by the federal government has become a particularly pressing business concern for corporate America."
