Emeka Moneme, a former chief administrative officer of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and a former city transportation official, is the new head of the Carmen Group's District of Columbia practice. Moneme, 37, started with the Carmen Group earlier this month as executive managing director.
Moneme said he first met Carmen Group president and chief executive officer David Carmen roughly a decade ago, while he was a private consultant. "We were working on a few projects together, so the relationship has been there for many years," he said.
Moneme said he has worked as a private consultant since leaving his position at WMATA at the end of last year. He said he expects to both lobby and consult.
