Former Patton Boggs partner Harry Silver has joined Epstein Becker & Green in Washington.
Silver’s practice focuses on defending health care providers in fraud and abuse cases, predominantly involving alleged violations of the Federal False Claims Act. Silver, who joins as a partner, also handles litigation over Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates, as well as related Administrative Procedure Act disputes.
“Epstein Becker has a nationally renowned health care practice,” he said. “There’s a lot of firepower here for regulatory and transactional work.”
Silver, who worked at Patton Boggs for six years, said he expects the number of fraud and abuse cases to boom in the next couple of years, especially with the passage of the health care legislation and its compliance and self-disclosure requirements.
“There are several far-reaching provisions in there,” Silver said.
