Brian- Take a breath, my man. I think Holder was merely trying to comment on historical changes in America while acknowledging Black History Month. But I get what you're saying, and it does apply to some speakers, both white and black. Just as a strong safety net does not necessarily make for an obnoxious belief in entitlement, passing civil rights laws does not create a level playing field. Many Americans are shooting for a goal that's still uphill. (Moderator- I'm not sure this posted the last time I tried. -Fred)

This is the first generation for all Americans where the standard of living has decreased for all: why should blacks be exempt from the realities of it because they are blacks? Racial discrimination explains nothing if it is happening to everyone. Eric Holder needs to get over himself.
