The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has selected a new clerk of the court.
Angela Caesar, a 19-year clerk’s office veteran, was appointed Tuesday to replace Nancy Mayer-Whittington, who retired on Oct. 30, according to a court spokesman. Caesar was previously chief deputy for administration.
The Clerk is the court’s chief administrator, overseeing 84 staff and a nearly $10 million budget. In an announcement, Chief Judge Royce Lamberth praised Caesar’s “vision for the future of the office and her demonstrated management experience.”
Caesar did not immediately return a call for comment.
