Duke Energy Corp. has hired Podesta Group to lobby for passage of climate change and energy legislation, lobbying disclosure records show.
The energy giant has been dropping out of coalitions and trade associations it views as insufficiently supportive of a climate bill, including the National Association of Manufacturers and, more recently, the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity.
The company has been outspoken in its support for a climate change bill.
The Podesta Group team working for Duke includes Elizabeth Inadomi, a former counsel to both the House Science Committee and Senate Commerce Committee.
