Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges pulled quite a coup with the latest addition to its litigation practice, The AmLaw Daily reports.
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld's now-former co-head of litigation Andrew Rossman has jumped to Quinn Emanuel's New York office, becoming the latest in a series of partner defections Akin Gump has seen. The firm lost 59 partners in 2008, more than any other firm on The American Lawyer 100.
Rossman, who spent 15 years at Akin Gump, says his move was not based on some of the complaints voiced by other former partners, which The AmLaw Daily reports included the firm's decision to reduce its emphasis on patent licensing and individual plaintiff employment defense.
"This is purely about a great opportunity at Quinn Emanuel," Rossman says. "I have nothing but positive things to say about Akin Gump."
