Legal Times will be Twittering from today's confirmation hearing for Thomas Perrelli and Elena Kagan, President Barack Obama's nominees for associate attorney general and solicitor general, respectively. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., and the two are expected to testify as a pair, not sequentially.

Perrelli, managing partner at Jenner & Block's D.C. office, would be the No. 3 official at the Department of Justice. Kagan, dean of Harvard Law School, would be the government's advocate before the Supreme Court. Obama nominated them a month ago.

I am overwhelmed by the hypocrisy of these Republicans. It also looks like the Democrats dont have the will to fight like the Republicans did between 1994 and 2006. Kris Ballal from Tennessee
