Job and family. It’s a balancing act that was cast into sharp relief yesterday for Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr’s David Ogden.
In the morning, President-elect Barack Obama announced Ogden's nomination to be deputy attorney general, the day-to-day manager the Justice Department’s more than 100,000 employees and the right hand of the attorney general.
By evening, he was a new father. Ogden's wife, Anne Harkavy, who is a partner in Wilmer's Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the Government and Regulatory Litigation Practice Group, gave birth to a baby girl. A partner at the firm says the couple named her Natalie.
